My Journey into Photography

Hey, my name is Oksana and I have loved photography for as long as I can remember.
When I was living in Ukraine, I used to borrow my sister's digital camera, capturing everything around me. Eventually, she gifted me a more advanced model—something I’ll always be grateful for. But the most meaningful gift came later when she asked me to photograph her wedding. At that stage, I knew very little about wedding photography, but I was determined to do my best for her. She always believed in me, and trusting me to document her big day was the moment I truly fell in love with wedding photography. That experience inspired me to pursue it as a career, gaining experience, refining my skills, and capturing love stories ever since.

Now, after more than 12 years of living in Ireland and becoming an Irish citizen, I feel deeply connected to this beautiful country. Ireland has shaped my journey as a photographer, from the breathtaking landscapes to the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work with.
I'm even more in love with shooting weddings now than ever before. I'm always excited to meet new couples, hear their stories and get to know their personalities. ​
My style is observational. I prefer taking natural and candid photographs, nobody wants to spend their entire wedding day posing for photographs. I know from experience this can be exhausting. It's your special day and I want to faithfully document it as it happened, to show how much fun you and your guests had. I do incorporate traditional portraits of the couple and their family, but it will not be the entire focus of the day and I aim to make the photo shoot as relaxing and stress-free as possible. ​
I am based in Portlaoise, but I am always prepared to travel far and wide to every beautiful location this island has to offer.
